Do you need a bank statement to visit Bali?

No statement for the visa on arrival; the C1 visit visa needs three months showing USD 2,000, and Bali's savings check is only a plan.

Short answer

You do not need a bank statement to visit Bali on the visa on arrival, which asks for a passport, a photo and a return ticket. Only longer visas, such as the 60-day C1, need three months of statements, uploaded on immigration's own site, never a look-alike.[2]

Do you need a bank statement to enter Bali?

No. The visa on arrival asks for none, and nor does visa-free entry, open to 19 mostly Southeast Asian passports. On landing, both ask for a passport valid six months past your arrival and a return or onward ticket.[1, 2, 3, 9]

  • Passport valid six months past arrival, with two blank pages.
  • A return ticket, or a ticket on to another country.
  • Your approved e-VOA (electronic visa on arrival), or cash or a card for the visa counter.
  • The free All Indonesia arrival card, filed in the 72 hours before you land.

Which Indonesian visas ask for a bank statement?

The longer visit visas do. The C1 visit visa (the 60-day tourist visa), the C2 business visa and the D1 multiple-entry visa each ask for bank statements covering the last three months.[4, 5, 6]

The statement shows you can pay for your stay. For the C1 and D1 the statements must show at least USD 2,000 (about AUD 2,900); for the C2 the minimum is set separately, so check it before you apply. The table sets the four visit visas side by side.[2, 4, 5, 6, 8]

The remote worker visa asks for the same three months and USD 2,000, on top of its income test.[7]

Our rule

Download three months of statements before you apply for a longer visa.

It is on the official list of documents, so an application without it is incomplete.

How do you upload a bank statement for an Indonesian visa?

You upload it inside your account on evisa.imigrasi.go.id with your other files, then pay the fee. A C1 application is processed in five working days. The steps below are the C1's; the C2 also asks for an invitation letter, and the D1 for a CV, a travel itinerary and a letter or invitation, so check your visa's own list.[4, 5, 6]

  1. Open an account

Create an account on evisa.imigrasi.go.id. The C1, C2 and D1 are applied for after you log in there; the C1 can also be applied for at an Indonesian embassy.[4, 5, 6]

  2. Download three months of statements

Download statements for the last three months, in your name or your sponsor's. For the C1 and D1 they must show at least USD 2,000, or the same amount in another currency.[4, 6]

  3. Upload them with your passport and photo

Upload the statements with your passport's photo page, valid at least six months, and a colour photo taken in the last year. A missing statement leaves the application incomplete.[4]

  4. Pay with the billing code

The system shows a billing code once you apply; pay the fee with it at one of the appointed banks, and never through a site or agent that asks you to pay them instead. The visa must then be used within 90 days of issue.[4, 9]

Is Bali going to check tourists' savings?

Not at the last official check. On 24 October 2026 the visa on arrival's official list still asked for no bank statement. On 15 January 2026, Ngurah Rai airport immigration said visitors need not show proof of savings.[2, 12]

The proposal is the province's. In January 2026 it planned to check foreign tourists' savings over the past three months against how long they stay and what they do, with no fixed minimum. Even inside the province the plan is disputed.[10, 11]

Our rule

Treat the savings check as a proposal until immigration's own visa lists change.

Entry rules are immigration's to set, and its lists ask for no statement on a visa on arrival.[2][11]

How do you spot a fake Bali visa site?

Apply on an official address you type yourself: evisa.imigrasi.go.id, or for the e-VOA also indonesiavoa.vfsevisa.id; the C1 can also be applied for at an Indonesian embassy. Fake visa agents can take your money and supply no visa, or the wrong one.[2, 4, 9]

Our rule

Upload a statement only in the visa application, yours or your sponsor's, and only for a visa that lists one.

A site that wants one for the visa on arrival is not following immigration's list.

FAQ

Does the bank statement have to be in US dollars?

No. The C1 and D1 accept at least USD 2,000 or the same amount in another currency, on statements covering the last three months.[4, 6]

Can a partner's or parent's bank statement count?

Only if that person is your sponsor for the visa. The C1, C2 and D1 accept a statement in your own name or your sponsor's, and most passports need no sponsor for them, as which visa fits shows.[4, 5, 6]
